An American in Istanbul, a classical music recording of The Yeni Makam Series by composer Edward J Hines, is a series of chamber works based on Middle Eastern folk and classical music. This unusual synthesis of Middle Eastern and Western music reflects Hines' 25+ years of research in Middle Eastern music and features four outstanding performances:
